Our Story
Soaring Learners Microschool & Tutoring Center first grew ‘wings’ back in 2015 when our CEO & Founder, Robyn Bench, started pursuing alternative education options for her son. When she discovered that her son was showing signs of dyslexia (and also realized there were limited resources out there to support his needs), she decided to learn, research, and dive into as many therapies and practices as she could. This ultimately led her to creating programs and services that would not only support him but other students who may need a different approach to learning, too!
And thus, Soaring Learners was born!
Soaring Learners is founded on two principles: learning must be multisensory (meaning it must engage different learning systems simultaneously) and engaging (fun!) in order to create stronger connections, make learning more accessible, and support each child in a meaningful way!
And what happens when you blend passion, hands-on learning, and a unique approach? Academic success and a genuine love for learning.

Meet Robyn!
Meet Robyn Bench, the heart and driving force behind Soaring Learners Microschool & Tutoring Center! Robyn, a devoted mother of two, has lived in Idaho all her life and loves the community, natural beauty, and never-ending opportunities for adventure in her home state.
Despite not always loving the traditional school setting (she found it hard to stay seated all day!), Robyn’s enthusiasm for learning and working with children has always been strong.
Over the years, Robyn’s taught in various educational environments—from public schools and preschools to homeschooling — and loved every minute! This broad background has equipped her with a unique perspective on the needs of children with different learning styles and needs, fueling her mission to create a more engaging, inclusive, and effective approach to education through Soaring Learners.
Robyn holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, with a specialization in Special Education from Idaho State University. She is also Orton-Gillingham certified.
When Robyn’s not teaching or tutoring, you can find her on the lake with her family, soaking up the sun, or wake surfing.
