Tutor Policy

Lesson Cancellation &
Rescheduling Policy

  • Except for illness or emergency, lessons canceled by parents/caregivers or students are non-refundable.

  • If a lesson is canceled by Soaring Learners, the option of either a make-up lesson or a refund will be offered.

  • With enough notice, a limited number of lessons** may be rescheduled or, in lieu of rescheduling, a Specialized Work Package, which is a substantial, individualized take-home package, may be requested by the parent/caregiver.

  • at least 24 hours’ notice of a cancellation is required to qualify for rescheduling or a Specialized Work Package.

  • Rescheduled lessons must take place within two months of the canceled lesson.

  • Soaring Learners cannot guarantee that rescheduling will always be possible, but we will always do our best to accommodate family requests, especially with advance notice.

  • Scheduled make-up lessons cannot be rescheduled.

Specialized Work Package

Our commitment to our families shows in the way we run our business, and we’re proud of our flexible service delivery. In addition to make-up lessons for occasional missed classes, Soaring Learners offers our unique Specialized Work Package (SWP) – a substantial take-home packet prepared by the tutor for the individual student.  SWPs are available where make-up lessons can’t be rescheduled within the allowable time period, and/ or when this option is preferred over rescheduling a lesson.

Please note: Lessons will not be scheduled or billed for any dates we are closed, including our Winter and Spring Breaks, and all statutory holidays.

Tutoring Termination Policy

Tutoring may be terminated by a parent/caregiver with one month’s written notice and can be emailed to robyn@soaringlearnerstutoring.com with a request to be released from your session agreement. All lessons falling before and within the notice period must be paid for and are non-refundable. This policy applies to terminating tutoring entirely as well as reducing lesson frequency.

Behavior Policy

Soaring Learners is dedicated to maintaining a professional and respectful environment for all students, staff, parents, and visitors. Our Zero Tolerance Policy aims to create a safe and inclusive atmosphere by prohibiting swearing or inappropriate language related to sexual content, drug/alcohol use, aggressive actions, words, or phrases. This policy applies to all individuals within our educational institution.

I. Inappropriate Language & Behavior:

  • Prohibited Language:

    • The use of profanity, vulgar language, or offensive remarks related to sexual content, drug/alcohol use, aggressive actions, or any other inappropriate subject-matter is strictly prohibited.

  • Respectful Communication:

    • All students, staff, parents, and visitors of Soaring Learners are expected to communicate respectfully and maintain a professional tone at all times.

  • Safe Behavior:

    • Soaring Learners is a tutoring and enrichment center, not a behavior support agency. Soaring Learners students must be able to follow safety directions given by staff including, but not limited to: using a safe body in the building, staying in the assigned work area, not attempting to elope (run) from the premises, using a voice volume that doesn’t interfere with other student learning (yelling or loud work refusals), and not display any violent or physical actions towards staff and students (throwing items, hitting staff, kicking staff, or other physical acts of aggression towards other children or staff present). The safety of all students at Soaring Learners is our priority and primary concern. If your child demonstrates the above behaviors, or related behaviors that impede the learning of others, your child will not be eligible to attend Soaring Learners in a group setting.

II. Reporting Incidents:

  • Reporting Violations:

    • Anyone who witnesses or experiences a violation of this policy is encouraged to report it promptly to Robyn Bench, Soaring Learners LLC CEO.

  • Confidentiality:

    • All reports will be treated confidentially to the extent permitted by law, and individuals making reports will be protected from retaliation.

III. Consequences:

  • Consequences for violations of this policy may include disciplinary actions, such as warnings or discontinuation of services at Soaring Learners.
This policy will be enforced to all students attending Soaring Learners. Behavior deemed inappropriate to the health, safety, and overall social and emotional well-being of Soaring Learners staff or students is at the complete discretion of Soaring Learners/Owner Robyn Bench. Any child exhibiting any related behaviors that negatively impact another child will not be eligible to continue receiving services from Soaring Learners. No refunds will be made. Future billing invoices will be canceled, and future participation will be prohibited.

IV. Review and Revision:

  • This Zero Tolerance Policy will be regularly reviewed and updated to ensure its continued effectiveness in creating a safe and inclusive educational environment. At Soaring Learners, we are committed to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive and learn in a respectful and safe atmosphere.
